Reconciliation Week

National Reconciliation Week is a celebration of the rich culture of Indigenous Australians and was established to promote and build better relationships between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians for the benefit of all Australians
NAIDOC Week
In 1955 Aboriginal Day was shifted to the first Sunday in July to honour Aboriginal culture. This day is now the beginning of a week of celebration.
The theme in 2009 is: Honouring our Elders, Nurturing our Youth - to encourage us to acknowledge our Elders as leaders of the community and role models for our youth.
